The brief was an outdoor room that could hold a dinner party and a quiet morning coffee with equal ease. The lot sloped gently away from the house, so the first move was structural: a compacted base pitched to drain, with a low fieldstone seat wall holding the grade and defining the room’s edge.

We dry-laid the full-color bluestone on site, adjusting every cut at the perimeter so the pattern reads as intentional all the way to the wall. The fire feature anchors the far corner — close enough to gather around, far enough to leave the center open.
