Blackstone Valley · Worcester County, Massachusetts
Stone patios, walls & walkways in Hopedale, MA.
A compact former Draper mill town whose finest homes ring Hopedale Pond and the tree-lined streets the company's owners built for themselves. From our base in Marlborough, Cleiton Landscape & Masonry hand-builds patios, walls, and walkways across Hopedale’s gentle glaciated lowland around Hopedale Pond and the Mill River — set on sandy glacial till over granite bedrock in the Blackstone watershed, matched to its grand Draper-era Colonial Revivals and shingled foursquares on Dutcher and Adin Streets, alongside gentleman's homes near the parklands, and built in ongoing collaboration with Jonathan Keep Landscape Design.
What We Build in Hopedale
Seven disciplines, one standard of craft.
Yes. The Hopedale Village Historic District and the town's protected pond and parklands mean stonework near the water is reviewed for drainage and wetlands buffers, so we engineer a base that holds in that soft margin rather than settles. And because the land here is sandy glacial till over granite bedrock in the Blackstone watershed, quick-draining on the uplands but soft along the pond and river margins, we plan the base and drainage for those conditions from the first day on site.
It depends on the season and the size of the scope. Hopedale sits in Worcester County, Massachusetts, and we schedule by region so travel and material delivery stay efficient — we will give you a real date rather than an optimistic one.
We serve all of Hopedale — from Bancroft Park, Spindleville, and Lake Point — and the surrounding Blackstone Valley towns, working from our base in Marlborough, MA. Cleiton Landscape & Masonry has hand-built stone patios, walls, and walkways across the region since 2008.
The grand Draper-era Colonial Revivals and shingled foursquares on Dutcher and Adin Streets here set the direction, and gentle glaciated lowland around Hopedale Pond and the Mill River, rising to wooded knolls toward the Mendon and Upton lines sets the scale. That usually means hand-set fieldstone and bluestone detailed to look original to the house rather than applied to it.
