Stone patios, walls & walkways in Marblehead, MA.
In Marblehead, stonework answers to a rocky peninsula of ledge and harbor slopes and to ledge and thin coastal soil underneath it. Historic Old Town and exposed waterfront on the Neck. We build the whole range — terraces, walls, walks, steps, and pool surrounds — much of it alongside Jonathan Keep Landscape Design.
What We Build in Marblehead
Seven disciplines, one standard of craft.
The colonial-era captains’ houses in Old Town and waterfront estates on the Neck here set the direction, and a rocky peninsula of ledge and harbor slopes sets the scale. That usually means hand-set fieldstone and bluestone detailed to look original to the house rather than applied to it.
Constantly. We routinely execute plans for landscape architects and designers, building to spec with millimeter precision — much of our work in ongoing collaboration with Jonathan Keep Landscape Design.
Yes. Old Town’s historic district and the Neck’s exposed waterfront ask two different things of stone — period restraint on one side, storm-grade construction on the other. And because the land here is ledge and thin coastal soil, with salt-laden wind off the water, we plan the base and drainage for those conditions from the first day on site.
We serve all of Marblehead — from Old Town, Marblehead Neck, and Clifton — and the surrounding North Shore towns, working from our base in Marlborough, MA. Cleiton Landscape & Masonry has hand-built stone patios, walls, and walkways across the region since 2008.
