The pink granite quarried here faces the Boston Public Library and monuments nationwide, and we work in that same New England stone tradition while planning every base around the shallow ledge that defines local ground.

The same crew builds the seat walls, the grill surround, the steps, and the terrace — in Prospect Heights, Bear Hill, and The Plains and across town — so the stone matches and one company owns how the finished room reads.

A large share of our Massachusetts work is executing drawings for landscape architects — reading elevations, holding the specified batter and joint, and flagging a conflict before it becomes a change order. Much of it in ongoing collaboration with Jonathan Keep Landscape Design.

Stone varies wildly pallet to pallet, so we select it ourselves. In Milford, where the local character runs to substantial Victorians and granite-trimmed homes in the older districts, getting the color and cleft right matters more than the grade printed on the invoice.

Milford sits in Worcester County, and most weeks we are somewhere in this pocket of Blackstone Valley — which means shorter travel, faster site visits, and a crew that already knows how ground behaves around here.

A fire feature is a masonry structure, not decoration. We build on a footing carried below frost — which on the pink granite bedrock sits close to the surface with frequent ledge outcrops, so excavation and drainage have to be planned around rock means going deeper than most expect — and line the core so the visible fieldstone or granite never takes the thermal punishment directly. That is why ours do not spall and crack after two winters.

Wood, gas, or a fire bowl: we run sleeves and gas lines during the build, and face the feature to suit the substantial Victorians and granite-trimmed homes in the older districts, plus newer estate subdivisions like Bear Hill it belongs to.
