On the Housatonic valley floor between two Berkshire ridgelines, we take a property from rough grade to finished landscape: drainage and earthwork first, because a landscape that fights water never looks settled, then stonework, plantings, and the details that make a yard feel resolved.

Working over limestone till and river alluvium — rich ground, but wet in the low fields, we start under the surface so the finished Great Barrington property sheds water, stays dry where it should, and never undermines the stonework above it.
