Nashoba Valley · Worcester County, Massachusetts

Stone patios, walls & walkways in Lancaster, MA.

Broad Nashua River intervales and fertile bottomland rising to drumlins and the orchard slopes of George Hill on rich alluvial loam in the river intervales over glacial till and drumlin gravel on the higher ground — that is the ground we build on in Lancaster. The oldest town in Worcester County, where estate homes and orchards spread across George Hill above the Nashua River meadows. Patios, walls, walkways, and whole-property work, hand-set to suit the Federal and Colonial estates of Worcester County.

Constantly. We routinely execute plans for landscape architects and designers, building to spec with millimeter precision — much of our work in ongoing collaboration with Jonathan Keep Landscape Design.

Yes. Lancaster's Bulfinch meetinghouse and its protected river intervales set a high preservation bar, so near the Nashua's floodplain we engineer bases and drainage to hold on ground that moves with the water table. And because the land here is rich alluvial loam in the river intervales over glacial till and drumlin gravel on the higher ground, with drainage that changes sharply by elevation, we plan the base and drainage for those conditions from the first day on site.

A natural-stone patio typically runs $30–$60+ per square foot installed. In Lancaster the swing usually comes from access and from how deep we have to excavate over rich alluvial loam in the river intervales over glacial till and drumlin gravel on the higher ground — you get an itemized scope after we walk the property.

We serve all of Lancaster — from George Hill, South Lancaster, and North Lancaster — and the surrounding Nashoba Valley towns, working from our base in Marlborough, MA. Cleiton Landscape & Masonry has hand-built stone patios, walls, and walkways across the region since 2008.
